I was born in Salzburg, Austria, and have lived in the United States since 2012, with earlier chapters across Europe and beyond. Before my current role, I held executive finance positions at SKIDATA, Kapsch TrafficCom, and Grass Valley, where I ran not only finance but, at various times, manufacturing, supply chain, legal, HR, IT, and the project office. I call myself a citizen of the world; five languages and four continents will do that.

Most of what I write comes from the same place: a sitting CFO who has implemented AI inside a finance function, closed and integrated real deals, and managed type 1 diabetes for four decades while doing it. When I say something delivers fast ROI, it is because I have seen the before-and-after numbers. When I say something is harder than it looks, it is because I have the scar tissue.
